Although we are a peace loving nation, Lord, crime and violence affect the lives of many of our people. Help us to develop a genuine love, concern, and respect for ourselves and all people. May our desire for freedom, greater resources, or material possessions never be an excuse for unjust aggression or an infringement on the freedom, dignity, and rights of another.

Guide us, Lord, as we strive to follow Your example, towards lawful and nonviolent solutions to the problems we face as individuals and as a nation. Amen.
